Brenda Jarrell had the privilege of growing up on a farm in Texas. Later she graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Home Economics. She taught Homemaking for the next fifteen years and then earned her master’s degree from Tarleton State University. She then became a school counselor for the remainder of her career. Upon retirement, she cared for her parents until their deaths. Now, she resides in Abilene, Texas. This book is a culmination of years of thoughts and notes. The picture on the front cover was painted by Brenda’s mother in pastel chalks over seventy years ago. Brenda wishes to honor her mother by using it on the cover of this book.
